UICC was established on 1933 under the name (International Cancer Union) with 280 members under the following frame work:

1-     survivors networks

2-     standardized tobacco groups

3-     volunteers cancer centers

4-     professional societies

5-     defense or general health agencies

 Other activities:

1-     cancer control and prevention

2-     smoking control

3-     transferring scientific knowledge

4-     capacity building and services

UICC has multinational executive board (from Canada, Italy, Germany, America, Switzerland) with high medical degrees.

UICC mission is to find solutions for cancer as global issue as well as offering projects, support, contributions, fundraising, grants, and health insurance

UICC Activities 2005

1-     partnership with American cancer society

2-     supporting and participating in the international women day Quds

3-     participated in the international union against lung cancer alarm

4-     celebrated breast cancer awareness month

5-     organized (what happened to my child)activity

6-     participated in the international conference for supporting breast cancer patients

7-     participated and called governments to protect infants with cancer high risk

8-     Agreement with International Health Organization about main public health issues.

UICC have the following Support Programs:

1-     specialized programs support

3-     cancer treatment

4-     patient support

5-     international cancer campaigns

UICC Plans:

1-     Protecting millions of lives for the coming years

2-     Agreements with International Health Organization to collect wide range of strategies to eliminate cancer and offer pain relieving treatment to improve quality of life for cancer patients

3-     Has a national plan with society.

UICC International Campaigns

1-     first UICC campaign was in 2005 about childhood cancer (what happened for my child)

2-     UICC has organized Aides and Malaria fever campaigns

3-     Celebrates World Cancer Day on February

UICC Contributions:

UICC works for training and capacity building for doctors and nurses as it has volunteer membership form
